A Visit To Zoo Essay
A visit to the zoo is always an educative and enjoyable experience for us, especially for children. Last month, I, along with my classmates went to visit the Delhi zoo. It is situated on Mathura Road on the grounds of the Old Fort. We brought tickets and went inside the zoo. We read the instructions written outside the zoo.
'Never tease-animals, they can be irritated, do not give them eatables or do not keep your finger, etc. inside the cages of animals.' These were some instructions. The zoo was well-maintained and also spread in a large area. It had a pond. 'Many water birds like ducks, cranes, swans were in that pond. The cages of the monkey were near the pond.
They were full of monkeys, baboons, and languors. They were dancing merrily. We saw white peacocks also. It belonged to Japan. Then we saw deer and rhinoceros. It was a big animal with heavy thick skin. It was surrounded by iron bars. Next came the aquariums. There was a large variety of goldfishes, balloon fishes, etc. A large crowd of people gathered during the noon hours to witness the feeding of the fishes. There were so many birds like parrots, hornbills, partridges, pigeons, etc. Each species of bird had a different cage. We saw the cages of foxes and hyenas also.
The most interesting was the sight of tigers, moving about freely; in the open behind the enclosures. That place was surrounded by a broad ditch of water. We also saw the king of the jungle, the majestic lion. We were all frightened to see the lion with open eyes. Sometimes it yawned and showed its large teeth and big mouth.
We saw the leopard, the panther, the zebra, reindeer, giraffe, and bison also. We were tired, so we sat for some time in the canteen of the zoo and took some snacks. We all were thinking, how vast and beautiful is the animal kingdom. We should save animals. They are the assets of our country.
