Republic Day Essay

The 26th of January is an important day in the history of India. If we got Independence on 15th August 1947, we got complete Republic on 26th January 1950. India is called the secular Democratic Republic. 

The preparations for this day begin before months in advance. The Defence Ministry takes responsibility for the whole function. The function begins with the Prime Minister, paying his homage to the Great Heroes of the Nation of India. The three chiefs of the three wings of the armed forces lay wreaths at the eternal flame at India Gate. 

The President unfurls the National flag. 21 gun salutes are given to the National Flag. The National Anthem is sung and the parade begins with the flypast of fighter jets and helicopters. The grand parade is led by the General officer commanding the Delhi zone. 

The soldiers are preceded by the Military Award Winners. Majestic Battle tanks, Anti-aircraft guns, and fighter planes Missiles are also a sight of attraction. The pageants of various states are the sight of attraction. They are represented by their cultural troops and tableaux. Many school children join this parade. 

The attraction of all eyes axes the brave children sitting on decorated elephants. This parade comes to an end on Red fort. The proceeding of this parade is watched live by many people of the nation on this day. In every school, this great day is celebrated enthusiastically. The principal hoists the flag and all teachers and students sing National Anthem. 

Patriotic songs are sung and speech is given by teachers. This day is memorable for every Indian. Our eyes fill with tears when we remember the sacrifices of our National heroes like Bapuji, Pt. Nehruji, Sardar Patel, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, etc., who sacrificed their lives on the altar of the freedom of India. How can a true Indian forget all these sacrifices?
